Earlier today the NCAA announced that Cam Newton is eligible to play in Saturday's SEC title game against South Carolina. On Monday the NCAA discovered a violation of Newton's "amateur status" and yesterday Auburn declared the quarterback ineligible to play. The school requested the heavily-favored Heisman candidate's eligibility be reinstated. In the meantime, cash payment and pay-to-play accusations continue to circulate in the SEC.
