The Golden State Warriors Just Unveiled Strange Chinese New Year Uniforms

The NBA’s best team right now is just showing off — not only are the Golden State Warriors absolutely rolling at the moment (Klay Thompson is fresh off an insane 37-point quarter the other night), but now they are getting a wardrobe makeover, too — for a few games, at least. This evening Golden State unveiled the first-ever Chinese New Year uniforms, which the team will wear on four separate occasions from February 20th – March 4th. The Chinese New Year kicks off on February 19th.

Per the Warriors’ President and COO, Rick Welts:

“We have been working with the NBA for two years now on our Chinese New Year uniforms to recognize the tremendous fan base that our Asian community represents. Connecting with our Asian community is a priority for our organization and we are proud that we are going to be one of two teams in the NBA to debut a Chinese New Year themed uniform as a way to thank our fans here in the Bay Area and abroad in China.”

So ultimately, what do we think of the jerseys? Sleeved jerseys are still pretty lame in my opinion, so I can’t say that I’m a huge fan. I’m just going to give them a C- minus for trying.
