NBA Bans Donald Sterling for Life

The NBA has banned Donald Sterling for life from any association with the Los Angeles Clippers organization or the NBA, effective immediately.

League president Adam Silver announced the ban at a press conference in New York City. The league’s investigation confirmed the voice on the audio recording released by TMZ on Saturday belonged to Sterling, Silver said. An additional $2.5 million fine has been assessed, with the money going toward anti-discrimination groups.

The Clippers host the Golden State Warriors in Game 5 of a Western Conference quarterfinals series tonight. It’s going to be one hell of a scene.

Shortly after the announcement, the team’s official website got a new look.
