Mike Tomlin Fined $100,000 for Stepping-on-the-Field-and-Blocking-Jacoby-Jones-Gate

Mike Tomlin will owe Roger Goodell and the NFL a cool $100k for stepping on the edge of the field—and possibly altering Jacoby Jones' end-zone run—during Thursday night's game against the Ravens, the league announced today. The rules committee said that “a modification or forfeiture of draft choices will be considered” once the draft order is set.

Which is… interesting. The Steelers could drop down the board or even lose a draft pick at Radio City in 2014. That's a steep penalty! Tomlin was nothing but apologetic on Tuesday, saying, “As head coaches, we're held to higher standards of conduct, and that blunder fell woefully short and in that vein I accept … the repercussions of a blunder of that nature.” But the NFL has decided an “I'm sorry” wasn't quite enough. In a pretty severe way.

In other news, Tomlin will still be starring during Saturday's arining of Soul Train. Rest assured, he's not missing that.
