Mike Ditka ‘admires’ Redskins owner for sticking with racist team name

Breaking news from the world of clueless old men — racist old coach has no problem with racist team name.

In an interview with RedskinsHistorian.com, former Bears head coach and current ESPN analyst and dick pill peddler Mike Ditka said any debate over the Redskins’ name being offensive is “so stupid it’s appalling.”

“What’s all the stink over the Redskin name?” Ditka said. “It’s so much [expletive] it’s incredible. We’re going to let the liberals of the world run this world. It was said out of reverence, out of pride to the American Indian. Even though it was called a Redskin, what are you going to call them, a Brownskin?

“This is so stupid it’s appalling, and I hope that owner keeps fighting for it and never changes it, because the Redskins are part of an American football history, and it should never be anything but the Washington Redskins. That’s the way it is.”

The Redskins are a part of American history folks. Just like slavery, the N-word and those couple times our ancestors killed all those people who lived in this country first, oh what were those people called, umm…

It’s really hard to completely hate Ditka, considering all he’s done for former players, but admitting he “admires” Redskins’owner Dan Snyder for standing his ground against detractors makes it a little easier.

“I admire him for it,” Ditka said. “Really, I think it’s tradition, it’s history, it’s part of the National Football League. It was about Sammy Baugh and all the guys who were Redskins way back then. I didn’t think that Lombardi and Halas never had a problem with it, why would all these other idiots have a problem with the name? I’m sorry.”

Yeah! What would Sammy Baugh say?!? And Lombardi and Halas didn’t have a problem with it. Neither did former Redskins owner George Preston Marshall. He didn’t have a problem. He was way too busy not letting blacks play to worry himself about how the Indians felt.
