When the Detroit Tigers swooped in and signed free agent first baseman Prince Fielder, a lot of people were wondering who was going to play third base. The team soon announced that Miguel Cabrera would transition over to the hot corner. That was met with plenty of skepticism, but the big guy has handled the position fairly well so far this spring.
Until this afternoon, that is. Cabrera took a rocket to his face after a groundball laced by the Phillies’ Hunter Pence took a bad hop. Blood immediately gushed over his uniform and he left the game. Scary, scary stuff.
