Miguel Cabrera steals a base, hits a triple in back-to-back innings

No, that’s not an Onion headline. Miguel Cabrera, who occasionally has trouble pulling away from the buffet, stole a base and hit a triple in back-to-back innings. Not surprisingly, it’s a career first.

The stolen base came as the Jays fell asleep on the infield and nobody covered third allowing Cabrera to waltz in without a throw. The triple was a bit more adventurous. A fly ball to deep center caromed off the wall hitting Rajai Davis square in the chest. It made for a spectacular blooper.

And it only took Miggy a whopping 13.1 seconds to get to third. Can somebody check with the Elias Sports Bureau? Pretty sure that’s a record.
