The good news for Alex Smith is that his team is in the Super Bowl. The bad news is that he’s been supplanted as the San Francisco 49ers’ starting quarterback by Colin Kaepernick in spectacular fashion and now finds himself on the sidelines.

Media day promised to be a terribly awkward experience for him, so he took the proper precautions – including wearing the world’s best noise-canceling headphones.
