In case you somehow weren’t on the Internet or watched TV in the last 24 hours Marshawn Lynch went full Beast Mode on reporters yesterday during Super Bowl XLIX Media Day answering over 20 questions with pretty much the exact same answer: “I’m just here so I won’t get fined.”
Of course, this being the Internet people couldn’t just let that work of genius by Lynch sit there and not have a little fun with it.
Unfortunately for Lynch it appears that he might get fined anyway… for his BeastMode hat. Seriously.
Unfortunately, for Lynch, showing up wasn’t the only criteria. Sources tell ESPN that, after the Super Bowl, the league will review whether the hat Lynch wore during the event was permissible. If the league rules that Lynch used Media Day to promote a brand that was not approved by the league, he could face a significant fine. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy declined to comment.
