This map shows the baseball team allegiance of every fan in America

The New York Times put together a fantastic interactive of baseball fans in America. They broke it down state by state, region by region. Some of the results will shock you.

Most of the map is pretty straightforward. The Braves dominate the SE, the Red Sox cover New England and so on and so forth. The Rockies and Twins cover a huge, huge area, more so than I would have thought. Then again, between them, there’s not much else between them (sorry South Dakota).

The Cardinals fanbase covers 3 or 4 states which more or less means there’s a ton of bandwagon fans.
