LeGrand jokingly challenged U.S. sprinter Lolo Jones, who finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2012 Olympics, to a foot race via Twitter on Tuesday.

Obviously Jones didn’t know LeGrand was confined to a wheel chair, or that he had suffered a spinal injury, when she tweeted back: “Get Checked for a concussion. Clearly, u’ve been hit in the head… Cos u arnt beating a track athlete.”

After someone else informed Jones LeGrand is “a quadrapalegic now,” her reaction was mixed: “No, dnt know. Sry dont know every football player. He challenged me 2 a race & I responded.” She later added: “Great I’m gonna get murdered for that tweet. When I had no clue who that dude was. Just responding to any athlete who challenges me to a race.”

Jones took heat for her comments, but not from LeGrand.

He tweeted to Jones: “didnt take it personal, understand where ur coming from. All good.”

I love how flip Jones is about the whole thing. That’s a real heartfelt apology right there. The sincerity practically drips off of it.

LoLo, you’ll never be America’s most popular virgin. Tim Tebow would never make a mistake like this. Here’s hoping those two finally find each other and become insatiable sex addicts. That’s a story line we can all get behind.
