Les Miles, the trick-play-loving, grass-munching mastermind behind LSU’s recent spate of success, reportedly has a monster offer on the table to jump ship to Arkansas. Never a dull moment in the SEC.
LSU Coach Les Miles has an offer from Arkansas for the head football coaching job, a source close to LSU confirmed to the Times-Picayune/NOLA.com Tuesday. The offer is reportedly for five years and $27.5 million.
"They made a serious offer," the source said "(Athletic Director) Joe (Alleva) is meeting with his (Miles') agent and the discussion is ongoing."
During his eight years in Baton Rouge, Miles is a tidy 85-20 with two national championship game appearances and one big crystal trophy. He’s currently making around $4 million a year. HEY, THAT’S LESS THAN WHAT ARKANSAS IS SUPPOSEDLY OFFERING.
One wouldn’t think the Razorbacks have a prayer in snatching him away, but this is Les Miles we’re talking about. You never know with that guy.
