LeBron James is too focused on winning his third consecutive NBA title, so he doesn’t have time to participate in the once-cool slam dunk contest. But don’t think for one minute that he wouldn’t wipe the floor with the competition.
After yesterday’s Miami Heat practice in Phoenix, James put on a ridiculous display of dunking talent sans shirt. His long-range self-passes defy logic and prove his immaculate timing.
It’s a damn shame high-flyers like James and Blake Griffin choose not to participate in the annual All-Star weekend throwdown. They can put lipstick on the pig all they want in the form of new formats, but the only way to save it would be a field full of the game’s best and most recognizable players.
