For $13.4 Million, Someone Finally Bought LeBron James’ Miami Mansion

Whether it’s because of the awards, championship runs, hometown cooking, influence on millions of people, a bajillion dollars in the bank or a life that has little to no boundaries, we all know that it’s great to be king.

But, sometimes, a king has to take a loss—and not from the Golden State Warriors.

A summer after departing South Beach and the Miami Heat for Northeast Ohio to rejoin the Cleveland Cavs, LeBron James has finally ridden himself of that gigantic mansion that he had in Coconut Grove, Fl., selling it for a cool $13.4 million, according to ESPN.com’s Darren Rovell.

“”

While everything seems to come easy for James in everything he does—on- and off-the-court—real-estate wasn’t one of those things, as the 12,178-square-foot house kept dropping in price, going from $17 million last October to $15 million this March and, finally, selling for $1.6 million less than asking price.

The home, which was once owned by former Heat All-Star Alonzo Mourning, contains six bedrooms, over eight bathrooms, a game room, theater, wine cellar, infinity pool and a dock on the water, yet, took over a year to sell—to a real-estate investing married couple.

Buying the home in 2010 for $9 million and renovating it a bit, maybe James ended up earning a couple million from the transaction, or maybe he’s too busy living the good life and counting his other millions to even care?

Either way, just remember, Heat fans, Bron chose Cleveland over Miami. #NeverForget
