Katy Perry Will Be The Guest Picker On Saturday’s ‘College GameDay’ From Ole Miss

When you think Ole Miss, you think Katy Perry, so it’s only natural that the singer will serve as the celebrity picker Saturday on College GameDay.

Perry, who earlier this week was rumored to be in Oxford for the big Alabama-Ole Miss game, confirmed the gig via a back and forth with Kirk Herbstreit on Twitter in yet another reminder Twitter can bring the most random people in the world together in a sentence.

You see, Perry’s connections to Ole Miss are strong. Hell, she’s practically as synonymous with the university as Archie Manning, the Clarion-Ledger discovered.

Wait, Katy Perry? Why? How?

Perry will be playing Memphis on Sunday, and Saturday is an off day. That’s No. 1. No. 2: her manager, Bradford Cobb, is a 1996 graduate of Ole Miss. He’s worked with her since she was 19 years old, and has helped guide her to the point where she’s one of the biggest music stars on the planet. No. 3: She was once photographed wearing an Ole Miss jersey.

Let me tell you how this goes. Someone will ply her with enough research to impress the boys on stage and Lee Corso will say 2-3 inappropriate things to her before putting on a funny hat. It’s the same thing every Saturday. Not that it’s a bad thing, of course.

Also, what are the odds Corso actually knows who she is? Ten to one? Eleven to one?
