Jonathan Quick makes outrageous save of the year candidate from his stomach

Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick didn’t need a glove or a stick to make this ridiculous save. Quick was extraordinarily fleet-footed during the Kings game against the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday night. Quick slipped on the ice and fell to his stomach giving Winnipeg forward Blake Wheeler an unguarded net. Wheeler fired and somehow while Quick was on his belly he had the foot-eye coordination to quickly raise his foot to deflect the incoming shot. This is definitely save of the year material here.

The amazing stop was reminiscent of Martin Brodeur’s scorpion save against the New York Rangers in the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals.
