UFC Champion Jon Jones Wanted For Felony Charge Of Leaving Scene Of Crime After Female Victim Suffered Broken Arm

More details have emerged in the hot-and-run accident involving UFC champion Jon Jones.

According to a police report obtained by TMZ, a man identified as Jon Jones allegedly fled the scene of a car accident on foot and marijuana was later found in what is believed to be Jones’ rental car.

TMZ Sports has obtained the police report … in which cops say witnesses saw a man believed to be the UFC champ run from the crash scene moments after slamming into a car carrying a pregnant woman.
One witness says Jones got out of his silver Buick and ran into the hills — before slouching over and darting back to the car to grab a “large handful of cash.”

Investigators found marijuana and a marijuana pipe inside the car that Jon Jones allegedly abandoned moments after a hit and run crash in New Mexico … cops say.

Update: Seems like things have gone from bad to worse for Jon Jones

The Albuquerque Police Department is still seeking Jones for questioning and has been unable to contact him.

The 27-year-old light heavyweight champion made headlines in January for failing a drug test for cocaine prior to his UFC 182 title fight against Daniel Cormier. Jones was fined $25,000 on Jan. 17 for violating the UFC’s Athlete Code of Conduct policy for the positive test result.

This also isn’t the first time that jones has been in an auto-related mishap. In May 2012, he was arrested on suspicion of DWI after driving his Bentley into a telephone pole while out partying in Binghamton, New York. He pled guilty to DWI and had his driver’s license suspended for six months.

Jones was scheduled to defend his title at UFC 197 on May 23rd against Anthony Johnson but that bout has now been put in jeopardy depending on the outcome of the police investigation.
