Jared Lorenzen Is Still a Scramblin’, Gun-Slingin’ Quarterback

Who saw this coming? Jared Lorenzen—the former Kentucky folk hero turned Eli Manning backup—is still playing football. Lorenzen was never a dainty flower during his day, but the man now weighs 320 pounds. His jersey is stretched to the absolute limits of its design. You can almost hear the fibers screaming.

Lorenzen plays for the Northern Kentucky River Monsters in a professional indoor football league. In 2011, his last year playing, he threw for 3,473 yards and 81 touchdowns. (Not a joke.) And in 2014, he’s still a scramblin’ machine.

Here he is eating nachos as a pregame snack.

Jared Lorenzen is a national treasure.
