Remember when Philadelphia 76ers center Jahlil Okafor was hyped up as being the second-coming of Tim Duncan prior to his lone season at Duke last year? Yeah, with the shit the near seven-footer has been doing in the past few months, dude seems more like the next Greg Oden than the Big Fundamental.
According to a report by CSN Philly‘s John Gonzalez, the rookie attempted to use a fake ID sometime in late October at a Philly bar, according to two sources with knowledge of the situation. Now, that wouldn’t be a big deal for Johnny College who has nothing to lose, but for a guy who’s expected to be the face of a franchise, it’s a pretty dumb move.
The report continues by saying this, per CSN Philly:
Okafor, 19, was refused service, the sources said. One of the sources said he was surprised because Okafor is “a big guy” and “famous” and “pretty easy to recognize.”
Classic move by the rook, but, unfortunately for his booze-filled mind, it didn’t work.
Of course, this is a bad look all around following other incidents with this year’s No. 3 overall pick, who was seen dropping his jersey at an introductory press conference and then dropped some heckling fans just last week in a fight on the street.
As expected with the fake ID story, TMZ Sports reports that Okafor’s reps deny the story, but, either way, the Sixers are playing things safe and just gave the kid his own personal security guard to help keep him out of trouble and becoming the next busted draft pick by the shitty ass team.
