New York Knicks guard Iman Shumpert officially withdrew from the Slam Dunk contest yesterday due to a cranky knee. It's too bad he did, because he and his teammate Jeremy Lin cooked up a pretty good idea for the event.

Shumpert was going to leap over a couch for one of his dunks, he told the New York Post. The article doesn't specify if Lin would have been sleeping on it at the time, but common sense suggests that'd be the way to go.
