This Dunk Contest With The Nation’s Top High School Seniors Is So Much Better Than The NBA Slam Dunk Contest

Josh Jackson. Remember this name. You will hear of this basketball prodigy so much in the future. Jackson will be a senior at Prolific Prep in California this year and is highly touted basketball star. the 6’7″ small forward is ranked as the No. 3 player in the Class of 2016 by ESPN, and ranked the No. 2 prospect in the country by 247Sports Composite. However for now he is the No. 1 dunker in the class of 2016.

Friday night, Jackson and other top high school senior ballers showcased their immense talents at the Under Armour Elite 24 Dunk Contest. Got damn these kids can sky. Jackson, who has been recruited by Arizona, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, among others, took home the hardware with not one, but TWO perfect 50 scores in the semifinal and final rounds. But it wasn’t an easy task because the competition was stiff. Baylor commit Mark Vital had his own perfect 50 score when he jumped over three players and threw it down with his right hand.

At Pier 2 in Brooklyn, Jackson, who helped Team USA win gold at the FIBA U-19 World Championship in Greece this summer, wowed the crowd with an off-the-backboard, between-the-legs dunk for his second perfect 50 score of the night.

He’ll also have a chance to score 50 on Saturday during the 10th annual Elite 24 showcase game, and I’m not betting against him since he broke the Big Strick Classic scoring record by tallying 50 points on Aug. 9.
