Hughson High School’s Justice Funch is a fullback, a middle linebacker and also a man. After trucking over one Summerville defender and then dragging another, like some kind of annoying toddler, for 15 yards, Funch has earned the right to tell people, “I’M A MAN, I’M 17.” Sure, it doesn’t have the same ring as “I’m a man, I’m 40,” but he’s earned that right.
Also, if his friends who are not on the football team aren’t bringing signs to the game that say, “You got knocked the Funch out!” they’re doing a disservice to the spectating of high school sports.
