Here’s the Moment the Lights Went Out During Super Bowl XLVII

This may have been the most bizarre moment in Super Bowl history. Seriously.

With the Baltimore Ravens leading 28-6 less than two minutes into the second half, a healthy portion of the Superdome lights stopped working. Oops.

With that, untold millions watching at home were suddenly without the CBS broadcast team of Phil Simms and Jim Nantz.

Sideline reporter Steve Tasker dutifully stepped in to tell us what we already knew: that there was a power outage and the delay would be significant.

Thirty-four minutes later, the game resumed.

Weird, wild stuff.
