Greg Hardy Would Rather Waste Money Than Sign A Carolina Panthers Helmet, Continues To Be A D-Bag

When healthy and/or not suspended, Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Greg Hardy has the ability to be the most dominant pass-rusher in the NFL. That second part has been a bit of an issue over the last few years, though.

Without getting too much into it, Hardy has been ripped following an incident in 2014 where he actually threatened his girlfriend with some serious weaponry, accepted a few suspensions and then continued to prove that he just doesn’t get the whole “being a role model as a pro athlete” thing by doing dumb shit afterwards.

So there’s that.

“”

Now, word has surfaced that Hardy pulled one of the biggest dickbag moves I’ve ever heard of from a pro athlete—if only because it’s so fucking arrogant—as he refused to sign a Carolina Panthers helmet that a fan requested he would, instead pulling out a $100 bill and putting his John Hancock on that.

I get it, the Panthers were the team who DID THE RIGHT THING by putting Hardy on the commissioner’s reserve list last season after that domestic violence incident. But they paid him his ENTIRE $13 million/year salary while he was being investigated—and even after he was convicted—so why the beef, Greg?

The fan who requested the signature on the helmet said this, per Yahoo! Sports:

“I was a little irritated because I spent $37 on the mini helmet,” said Jeremy Smith, the recipient of the legal-tender autograph who claims to be a Cowboys fan. “But he offset it by throwing down the $100 bill. I was a little surprised. It made me feel better.”

It makes it seem like Hardy was actually doing a favor for the fan, but, hold up, because the defender didn’t even sign his REAL NAME onto the Ben Franklin tender, instead going with his nickname, “Kraken.”

I just want to go ahead and thank Greg Hardy for continuing to prove that my dumbass decisions over the years pale in comparison to anything he has, and probably ever, will.
