Did You Know It Was Possible To Get A DUI In A Golf Cart? Neither Did This Golfer

The best part of golf is grabbing some drinks after a round. The second best part of golf is that feeling of “it’s going to be a good day” right before teeing off on the first hole. Everything else about golf sucks and that’s why I play it as often as I can.

Now, I’ve seen more than a few guys get plastered after a round (and also before and during a round) but I’ve never heard of a guy getting so drunk he got a DUI in a golf cart.

West Windsor police said in a release they were dispatched to the golf course on a report that a course ranger was attempting to stop an intoxicated male driving a golf cart erratically.

While officers were headed to the Village Road course, police were advised the car had crashed into a vehicle.

Officers arrived and found the cart struck a vehicle on Village Road West at Regent Boulevard. Kleid, the golf cart operator, was intoxicated, police said.

The guy was charged with drunken driving, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to stop or yield.

Now here’s a legit Q about this case — if the guy loses his license does he also lose the right to drive a golf cart? I mean if he can get a DUI in a golf cart, it’s got to be considered a vehicle. Right?
