Bro Wins Gold Medal, Celebrates By Getting Hammered, Pays For Cab Ride Home With Medal In Epic Act Of Drunkenness

There have been many times in my life where I’m grateful as fuck that I have an app like Uber or Lyft, where my credit card info is already saved to pay a driver.

Seriously, who the fuck carries cash and, more importantly, who the fuck still has that cash on them after a long, drunken night out with a bunch of people? No one, right?

When Uber and Lyft aren’t available, though, sometimes desperate means calls for desperate measures in order to leave the driver with something valuable.

Take, for instance, hammer thrower Pawel Fajdek of Poland, who, after winning the gold medal at the World Athletics Championships, found himself looking for a way to thank his driver for the lift home.

According to a story publish on Independent.co.uk, Fajdek woke up in Beijing without the piece of gold anywhere to be found, allegedly giving a cabby the medal as a payment for the drunken ride home after celebrating the win.

When cops were able to track down the driver, they persuaded him to return the medal back to Fajdek, who, no doubt, was still lying around his hotel room hungover as all fuck.

We’ve all had those moments where we wake up the next morning in shame, trying to retrace our steps and the debauchery that ensued the night prior. But, handing over something as valuable as a gold medal from a legit competition is something that you or I probably will never have to deal with, so I’m just glad to hear Fajdek got the damn thing back.

There are drunken stories and then there’s this, which I would love to hear in detail over some beers sometime—I’ll pay for the cab home, though.
