Last night, San Francisco Giants second baseman Joe Panik launched a home run off of who else but struggling Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Jeanmar Gomez. The ball catapulted off Panik’s bat in the seventh inning and over the right field wall into San Francisco’s famed McCovey cove, where kayaks are usually poised to fetch home run moonshots come playoff time.
Except this time, the fan on the receiving end of the ball had literally ZERO regard for getting wet or not; he just wanted a fucking home run ball!
For love of the home run.
