Ghana removes two star players from World Cup ahead of key game against Portugal

This morning, Ghana sent Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari home from the World Cup. The news come just ahead of Ghana’s big match against Portugal. The details of the removal include a fight with broken bottles. Is Hard Knocks Ghana coming to HBO?

Here’s World Cup reporter Gary Al-Smith with the details.

Apparently the dispute centers on players not getting paid.

Muntari is alledged to have slapped a member of the Ghana National Team’s management committee by name Moses Armah and even chased with with broken bottles at the hotel over disagreements with appearance fees and other bonuses owed the players.

What a shitshow. The game is scheduled for noon. Let’s hope Ghana has enough players to complete. The U.S. needs them to keep the game close.
