Matthew Stafford, Lions: After a sluggish start this year he torched the Houston secondary for over 440 yards with a pair of scores on Thanksgiving and seems to be back in last year’s form. With the Colts coming to the quick turf at Ford Field this weekend, we expect Stafford to toss 3+ TD’s, with Megatron and Pettigrew having solid days.
Peyton Manning, Broncos: Manning had a tough week against the struggling Chiefs defense yet still tossed for 285 yards and 2 TD’s. This week Manning will get a home start against a very poor Tampa Bay passing defense, which is ranked 29th in the league. With McGahee out with a torn MCL and Moreno’s inability to produce a big play last week, expect a lot more attempts from Manning this week.
Colin Kaepernick, 49ers: Too soon? We don’t think so. He has showed incredible poise and a willingness to stay in the pocket and make the big play with his rocket of an arm. Combine that with his freakish ability to make plays with his feet and he’s a must start for any team. Not to mention he’s playing St. Louis this week, the very team that gave him his opportunity to play by knocking out Alex Smith just over 2 weeks ago. He put 16 fantasy points in his limited snaps that game, expect much more this week as he proves why is the starter in San Fran.
Adrian Peterson, Vikings: Since returning from a late season ACL injury Peterson has been on an absolute tear this season. He is the league’s leading rusher, over Foster, and the Giants gashed the Packers last week; with the Pack’s defense depleted due to injuries to Clay Mathews and Charles Woodson. Peterson is averaging 112.4 yards a game on the ground per game, the most of any player and he also has 7 rushing touchdowns this season.
CJ Spiller, Bills: Spiller has been incredibly efficient with his carries and for the most part pretty productive, but he hasn’t found the end zone in 5 games. I’m sure he’s had this home game vs Jacksonville circled on the schedule; it’s a great slump buster. Whether it’s in the passing game or the running game, this man will find pay dirt vs. the 27th ranked run defense. Don’t fret about Fred Jackson, he is the second option whether they admit to it or not. This should be Spiller’s breakout game of the year as he should catch and run for a score.
Dez Bryant, Cowboys: With Miles Austin and DeMarco Murray hurt, Romo has had to rely heavily on Dez Bryant the past few weeks and that trend continue. He faces the overrated Eagles secondary coming off a short week. On Thanksgiving he made up for his fumble with eight receptions for 145 yards and two receiving touchdowns and we except a multiple TD game again this week.
Reggie Wayne, Colts: Reggie Wayne has had at least three receptions in 59 straight games and is Andrew Luck’s favorite target. The Lions defense has been horrible all year and the secondary is prone to big plays. With T.J. Hilton emerging as a legitimate #2 across from Wayne he should see a lot of single coverage this week.
Hakeem Nicks, Giants: Nicks had a productive game last week, hauling in 5 catches for 77 yards and a touchdown. This might mark the official return to health for him and if that’s the case, he will only get better as Eli Manning and the G-Men make a playoff run. Where better to continue his streak than in Washington, as he faces a secondary that has given up the most points to fantasy wide outs this year.
