Sarah Jones, the former Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader and teacher charged with having an illegal sexual relationship with one of her students, has agreed to a plea deal.
Details of the 26-year-old’s agreement were not released.
Jones was indicted in March on charges of first-degree sexual abuse and unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited acts. Police say the charges stem from an investigation that began in November at Dixie Heights High School in Edgewood, Ky.
Jones, a former freshman English teacher at the high school and cheerleader for the Cincinnati Bengals, stepped down from her position at the school in November after the investigation began, citing "personal reasons."
In July, Jones appeared on "Good Morning America," to address the allegations.
"People don't know the real me. There's blogs and postings out there that I have slept with numerous people. I married my high school sweetheart," she said. "I just asked the general public to maybe hold their judgment a little bit longer until the truth comes out."
Jones will enter her plea later today and be sentenced.
So we will have to wait even longer for the so-called “truth” to come out.
