3 WWE wrestlers who would make a strong addition to Evolution

via WWE

It appears as if the WWE faction of Evolution will stick around for a while. At least Triple H and Randy Orton are sticking around, Batista will be in and out with movie duty.

The original configuration of Evolution included Ric Flair, bringing the total number of men to four, a number which makes a little more sense in the current dynamic of the WWE. The other top-level packs run in threes (The Shield and Wyatt Family) but if Evolution is to appear as the “strongest unit”, a fourth member tips the numbers game in their favor. A fourth member of Evolution is more plausible than half the WWE locker room coming to aid Evolution.

But which WWE superstar would make the most sense in Evolution? The group is supposed to represent the “past, present and future” of wrestling but right now it’s mostly past, some present, and one guy who’s part time. Here are three strong candidates.

Sheamus

After a loss to Bad News Barrett in the Intercontinental Title tourney, Sheamus is stuck in the middle of the mid-card. No potential feuds as of yet, no story lines worth continuing and nothing really for the Celtic Warrior to do but trim his ginger beard like he’s auditioning for a 90s Irish boy band and wait.

He was much more interesting playing the unstoppable heel, crushing people like future champion Daniel Bryan in seconds. He’s an imposing force to replace Batista when he’s out for house shows and doesn’t really need much mic time since his promos tend to get a bit stale. Sheamus needs an edge that only Evolution can bring.

Cody Rhodes

via WWE

The break-up of the Rhodes brothers was hinted at on Raw last night. It’s about time. Golddust will be fine on his own and Cody needs a return to the smug, arrogant persona that won him an Intercontinental Championship.

Rhodes’ family tree also makes him an obvious candidate for addition to Evolution. He’s a second generation wrestler with a brother who also wrestles. Randy Orton is third generation. The “evolution” of wrestling. Do you see where I’m going here?

Seth Rollins

via WWE

Now, who’d see this one coming? Roman Reigns is going to be the breakout star of the group. Seth Rollins will make a solid singles competitor though he’s probably better off as the heel. So where does that leave Seth Rollins?

Now, a turn on his Shield buddies and joining of Evolution at Extreme Rules? Screw the group out of a victory and join the hated enemy all in the same night? Rollins would get instant heat, making Evolution even more hated by the WWE Universe.

Who do you think would make a good fourth member of Shield? Bark it in the comments section and make a case.
