Is Eli Manning One of the Top 5 Quarterbacks in the NFL?

Had a good debate going over Christmas break with my brothers, yesterday afternoon at the bar with J. Camm and Mr. T, and last night on Twitter with our followers regarding this question: Is Eli Manning one of the top 5 quarterbacks in the NFL?

We know Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, and Tom Brady are the top three in the league (though not necessarily in that order and not taking into account Peyton Manning). Then who?

I argue that Eli Manning deserves a spot in the top 5. Some have insisted that Ben Roethlisberger is the #4 QB in the NFL, if for no other reason than that he has two Super Bowl rings and Eli has one. Still others say that Matt Stafford, Cam Newton, and Matt Ryan all belong ahead of the Shoulder Shaker. They say Eli is too streaky and that Cruz, Nicks, and Manningham have bailed him out of some Tebow-esque hucks this year.

Watching last night's dismantling of Dallas, however, gave me even more confidence that Eli is the #4 quarterback in the league. Other than Rodgers, Brees, and Brady, there's no one else I'd rather have starting on Sunday. But as someone who bleeds blue I'm of course incredibly biased, so let me know what you guys think — is Eli Manning one of the top 5 quarterbacks in the league? Sound Off in the comments...
