Orlando Magic’s Elfrid Payton Offers Only Possible Explanation For Pete Carroll’s Horrible Decision

Super Bowl 49 is in the books and it was an absolute stunner — the New England Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 on a game-ending interception from Russell Wilson in the final minute. All of the water cooler talk tomorrow is going to be about that interception, but it isn’t going to be about Russell Wilson’s poor decision-making, but rather Pete Carroll’s. After all, the Seahawks have arguably the best running back in the NFL, and the best power back to boot, and opted to not run the football from less than a yard out of the end zone. Yikes.

After the game, Pete Carroll expressed that the decision to throw the ball was a horrible one and it was all his fault, a sentiment that many of his players echoed. But nobody summed up Carroll’s poor judgment better than Orlando Magic rookie Elfrid Payton:

Of course, one of his Twitter followers had an amazing response:

I don’t really have much more to add — Pete Carroll made an egregious error that he’ll probably regret for the rest of his life. It cost his team a Super Bowl, and he really let down Elfrid Payton.
