How To Incorporate the Food You Love Into Your Healthy Diet

Junk food tastes great and healthy food tastes like shit. There…we said it right off the bat without trying to jerk anyone off by sneaking it in elsewhere in this article. Two slices of pizza and a beer will go down much easier than a grilled chicken breast, steamed vegetables and water – any day of the week.

So fuck this working out shit and go directly to the ‘Girls’ or ‘Sports’ sections, right? Nah, you’re not getting off that easy, but we will show you how you can have the best of both worlds…sort of.

It is possible to eat some of these delicious and usually fattening foods when you are really craving them and we are not talking about a “cheat” meal, either. That is an entirely different subject for a later date.

What we are getting at is how to make these foods less fattening so that they will not blow up everything that you have been trying to do right with nutrition. Unless you are entering a bodybuilding competition or have a photo shoot coming up, learn to live with a body that will not be perfect. And if you think that the magazines do not use Photoshop to fix any imperfections, then also enjoy that tax-free Nigerian lottery you found out you won in that e-mail with the link.

Here are some suggestions for you to ponder the next time that you stop off to eat out with the boys:

PIZZA

Probably the most popular junk food will never be mistaken for something healthy but you can get away with eating it once in a while. Don’t go nuts and crush a whole pie but having two slices of regular or vegetable topped pizza is the way to go. Pepperoni and sausage will add even more fat and salt and bring nothing of value to the table, so let your friends eat those pieces.

Stay away from the extra cheese pizza on the menu, as the fat content outweighs the plusses of the calcium and protein in it.

If you have the choice, go with the whole wheat or thin crust to cut down on the carbs and total calories. And the more tomato sauce, the better, as it is loaded in Vitamin C and good for overall prostate health.

BURGERS

Turkey or veggie burgers would be the best bet but the dryness and overall taste sucks balls. So if you are going to go with an all-American hamburger, leave the slice of cheese off and use ketchup instead of mayonnaise on it. Opt out of the bacon and in for the lettuce and tomato.

A single meat patty will give you what you crave without doubling the calories and fat grams. So forget about the doubles and Big Macs of the world. Mushrooms may sound fine, but ask if they were sautéed in butter before being plopped on top of that mouth-watering mess you are about to dive in to.

People will tell you to throw away the bun and eat your burger with a knife and fork, but that is like cumming without a full rod. If you’re going to eat something that tastes great, do it right within reason. And bread is just a necessary evil with a burger.

STEAK

The coup de grace of man food! There is nothing that compares to slicing into a nice big juicy steak and just because you are trying to eat right doesn’t mean that you should say no to something that can actually give back more than just taste.

Red meat is full of protein, iron and Vitamin B-12, all good stuff for your body and muscle building plan. And there are cuts of steak that are leaner than others and knowing which ones lie where on the list is something that you should be aware of if you want to stay lean, as well.

Here are the leaner cuts: sirloin tip side, top round, eye of round, bottom round, top sirloin.

The not so lean: flap, filet mignon, porterhouse, skirt, New York strip, T-bone and rib eye.

There’s no need to smother a nice piece of beef with butter, nor is it necessary with a baked potato, either. So if you’re going to consume these additional calories and fat content, isn’t it better to eat a tastier cut of steak than some greasy butter?

And since this is certainly not going to be a meal of the low fat variety, getting some vegetables as a side dish is a much better choice than French fries.
