Duke Recruit Grayson Allen Wins McDonald’s Dunk Contest with Litany of Ridic Slams

Let’s just get the obvious out of the way: a white Duke recruit won the McDonald’s All-Star game dunk contest last night, and that, in and of itself, is a pretty weird thing to say! If only because it’s a sign that announcers will be very confused next year. “We can’t call him heady or scrappy? We have to call him… athletic?”

Grayson Allen is the 6-foot-4, 20th-ranked prospect from Florida, and he took down Theo Pinson, Justice Winslow, Karl Towns and Kelly Oubre with slams that included a jump over future teammate Jahlil Okafor. Okafor is the No. 1 player in the country. Nos. 4, 15, and 20 have also signed onto the program. (And No. 2 is considering it.) Maybe someone can replace Wojo for the halftime interviews.
