Drake’s Recruitment of Kevin Durant Just Earned the Toronto Raptors a $25,000 Fine

The Toronto Raptors have been fined $25,000 after superfan Drake tried to entice 2016 free agent Kevin Durant to the team during a recent concert.

Now, what you saw right there wasn’t a nice moment between two celebrities and a bunch of raucous fans. No, the NBA will have you know it was tampering in the form of a public plea to come north of the border.

“Before we leave, I just want to show one of my brothers something,” Drake announced to the crowd. “You know, my brother Kevin Durant was kind enough to come to the show tonight and watch us. I just want him to see what would happen if he came to play in Toronto. Let him know what would happen.”

Diabolical plan, right? Who wouldn’t make a huge decision based on how loud a group of people cheered? Lord knows every contestant in the history of The Price is Right would.

You see, Drake was named an official ambassador for the franchise in 2013 — a role which is very serious.

This is terrible news for every future bandwagon he jumps on. Dude does more harm than good.
