The Los Angeles Angels opened the season last night by hosting the Seattle Mariners. To say the 2014 campaign got off to a poor start for the franchise would be a massive understatement.
Hitting coach Don Baylor somehow fractured his right femur while catching the ceremonial first pitch from Vladimir Guerrero. The bizarre injury happened after the 64-year-old slugger attempted to smother Guerrero’s pitch, which was juuuuuuuuuuuust a bit low and outside.
Baylor will have surgery later today. Here’s wishing him a swift recovery.
