This is a brutal way to lose a football game. It’s also an awesome way to win a football game. Life’s all about perspective.
With seconds left in a 14-14 game, De La Salle (Mich.) decided to attempt a 57-yard field goal. FIFTY-SEVEN. Predictably, the kick fell well short and was returned by Detroit Catholic Central’s Zach Brock 99 yards for the game-winning touchdown.
I honestly am not sure if I’ve ever seen a worse coaching decision. What possibly made this coach think he’s high school kicker was going to blast one in from that distance?
I’m glad he did, though, because that was damn entertaining.
