Dear surfers, this is why you don’t paddle too close to gigantic whales

A group of surfers from Sydney, Australia mistakenly thought it would be a good idea to paddle up to an enormous whale.

Regulation in Australia dictates that surfers must stay over 100 meters away from whales, and just last year a surfer was hospitalized after paddling to close to another Souther Right Whale (same as above). Nevertheless, these jackass Aussies thought they’d have a paddle up for a closer look and were then somehow shocked when the agitated whale lashed out.

No word yet on whether or not the surfers have taken to their new nicknames of ‘poopie pants’ after their visceral reaction to the whale’s melee.
