Dallas Sports Anchor ABSOLUTELY OWNS the NFL For Their Reaction To Michael Sam Issue

In the recently published Sports Illustrated piece about Michael Sam’s announcement that he’s gay, anonymous sources within the league said that Sam’s sexual orientation will be an issue in locker rooms and will drop him out of the top few rounds in the 2014 NFL Draft .

WFAA sports anchor Dale Hansen took issue with the NFL’s take on Sam and his life choices. The Dallas sports anchor absolutely nails the NFL in his “Hansen Unplugged: Celebrating Our Differences” segment Monday night for being accepting of players who abuse women, abuse drugs and are accused of rape but can’t open their arms, and locker rooms, to a man who happens to love another man.

“You beat a woman and drag her down a flight of stairs, pulling her hair out by the roots? You’re the fourth guy taken in the NFL draft. You kill people while driving drunk? That guy’s welcome. Players caught in hotel rooms with illegal drugs and prostitutes? We know they’re welcome. Players accused of rape and pay the woman to go away? You lie to police trying to cover up a murder? We’re comfortable with that. You love another man? Well, now you’ve gone too far!”

If you want to read the complete transcript, it’s right here, but the video is much better.

It’s cool if you applauded after that video. I did.

It’s almost as good as Jon Stewart’s rant on The Daily Show. Almost.
