Jon Lester Is Reinventing Baseball By Throwing His Entire Glove Along With The Ball To Get Outs

Sometimes as an employee you realize there are just better ways of doing things. Today, Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lester decided that he could improve the Cubs’ defense with just a simple little tweak, and he showed just how effective his brilliant strategy can be. When the Padres’ Clint Barmes hit a chopper up the middle, Lester decided that he wasn’t going to mess around anymore with the slow process of getting the ball out of his glove to send it on its way to first for the out; no, he just threw the whole package — mitt and all — to save time.
