In Titanic, Billy Zane taught us that a real man makes his own luck. Last night, during the revamped Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden, Creighton taught us that a good team makes its own luck.

Devin Brooks’ attempt to throw a lob sailed way too high and caromed off the side of the backboard, right to Austin Chatman, who sank a three-pointer.

That is not how Blue Jays coach Greg McDermott — or any coach in the history of coaching for that matter — drew it up.
