CM Punk Explains The Major Advantage MMA Will Always Have Over Wrestling

CM Punk is still getting asked about his time in the WWE and he’s still taking every opportunity to pour gas on the fire.

Rolling Stone magazine interviewed Punk and he explained why MMA training is frustrating as hell for a beginner.

“I’m always a little bit frustrated, because it’s just repetition to get muscle memory down so I’m not making the same mistakes,” said Punk. “I think it’s a lot harder than people realize. You’re re-learning this entirely new skillset and trying to condition your body to do things it wouldn’t normally do. It’s challenging and it’s fun.”

Punk continued to discuss his frustrations but turned his attention to his old career as a WWE superstar. Here’s an advantage MMA will always have over the WWE, according to the former champion.

For the longest time [in] what I did, the competition wasn’t that clean-cut. It didn’t matter if you were the best. There’s slimy backstage politics, there’s always somebody trying to undercut you. To me, there’s something romantic about just you and another guy locked inside a cage and the better man wins. In that time and space, nothing else matters. I definitely think it can be fucking scary, but I like embracing the things that scare me.”

And here’s where we all laugh at the idea that there aren’t any politics or underhanded stunts in MMA or UFC. There are politics and underhanded stunts working at fucking Staples, I’m absolutely certain the UFC has more than their fair share of people doing shady shit to hold one another down.
