Chad Ochocinco has eight-sixed his unusual and technically inaccurate Spanish surname. The verbose wide receiver and OCNN media mogul changed back to Chad Johnson earlier this morning.

Johnson, who at one time was a premier NFL pass-catcher, adopted the moniker in 2008. Today’s reversal cost him all of $401.

He married “Basketball Wives” human Evelyn Lozada on July 4 and apparently the couple wants her to have a real last name. I always knew Chad was a traditionalist at heart.

After a disappointing season with the New England Patriots last year, Johnson will be taking his talents to South Beach this fall.
