This, Bros, Is Why Prematurely Celebrating Is A Bad Idea

There have been a number of instances where athletes have cost themselves or their teams for celebrating too early, yet, unfortunately, some people haven’t learned the lesson until they’ve done it themselves.

The newest culprit is U.S. runner Molly Huddle, who, during the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, dogged it a little bit by easing towards the finish line, only to get passed by a competitor behind her to drop Huddle from earning a medal.

Competing in the 10,000 meters, Huddle may have lost out on the bronze, but at least the accessory stayed with the red, white and blue, as the passing runner was U.S. teammate Emily Infeld who took advantage of Huddle’s mistake.
