Capitals Coaches Celebrated Their Winter Classic Win With 40s of Olde English Malt Liquor

Television network Epix followed the Washington Capitals and Chicago Blackhawks in the weeks approaching the Winter Classic, producing a show similar to HBO’s 24/7 that aired in years past.

I haven’t watched any of the four episode yet, but by all accounts the show was pretty good. Regardless of quality though, it justified its existence by giving us this moment.

After the Capitals beat the Blackhawks in thrilling fashion, with a last-second goal by Troy Brouwer giving them the win, Capitals coaches celebrated by drinking 40s.

And not just any 40s, but OG Olde English 40s.

Beast move. Here’s the GIF of the toast, via the great DC Sports Bog.

That’s head coach Barry Trotz in the middle there, with the blue shirt and red tie.

If it were me, I would have celebrated with a Hurricane, which is the finest of 40s. In fact, Olde English comes in third in my rankings.

It goes:

1. Hurricane
2. Schlitz
3. Olde English
4. Steel Reserve
5. Country Club
746. King Cobra
