It took Bryce Harper 15 games and 54 at-bats to hit his first major league home run. He’ll need to go deep more often than that to justify all the hype. His blast last night against San Diego’s Tim Stauffer to dead centerfield made him the youngest player to homer in The Show since Adrian Beltre in 1998.
In true Harper style, he hustled his ass around the bases. We’ll see if he keeps that up when he starts playing longball more often.
