Blake Griffin And Marvin the Martian Dunk It Out In New ‘Space Jam 2’ Themed Commercial

For years, there have been lots of rumors about a Space Jam sequel coming out, with various reports on which superstar baller would play the dubious role of Michael Jordan’s lead character.

After news broke a couple of weeks ago about Warner Bros.—who owns the right to the title—filing a new trademark for the movie, along with agreeing to a deal with LeBron James, it seems that the movie is definitely going to happen at some point.

With this new Jordan Brand commercial starring L.A. Clippers star Blake Griffin dunking it out with Looney Tunes villain Marvin the Martian, buzz about the flick is sure to heat up even more, as the duo compete in an unworldly slam-fest.

For all of you sneakerheads out there, both dunkers are wearing throwback, customized Marvin the Martian Jordan 7’s as they fly through the air—which, according to Sole Collector, are set to release sometime later this month.

Sure, the whole thing seems a little bit over-the-top just to sell some shoes and create some more chatter about the apparent movie, but when you add a force like Griffin dunking against a cartoon character, it’s pretty fucking cool, nonetheless.
