Bill Walton Made Ray Lewis and Bill Simmons Jokes Last Night, Because Bill Walton DON’T CARE

The big news in Bristol this week was the Mothership's decision to suspend Bill Simmons from Twitter after he (correctly) called "First Take" out on its shit last week. "Free Simmons" even briefly trended on Twitter yesterday. (Which was funny on about three different levels, one of them being the fact that ESPN isn't the Sports Guy's mother. The company didn't take his iPhone, lock him out of his account, and send him to bed without dinner. Nothing is currently stopping him from Tweeting.)

Anyway, ESPN brass has been mum on the issue, even as they've watched it blow up in their faces. Bill Walton, though, didn't toe the company line last night. Because Bill Walton is 60 years old, semi-retired, and doesn't give a shit.

Here's Walton using a very, very tenuous connection to the game as a chance to bring up the Simmons suspension. His partner, Dave Pasch, sounds horrified. "We'll just dismiss that."

And then, for good measure, Walton brought up the 2000 murder trial of new ESPN employee Ray Lewis. Because Walton DOESN'T GIVE A SHIT.

God bless you, you crazy old bastard. Stay the possibly stoned, undoubtedly awesome broadcaster you've always been. We'll wait out the inevitable ESPN suspension.
