Now that Bill Simmons is not returning to ESPN he doesn’t have to hold back when criticizing the company or the NFL.
Simmons’ former employer, ESPN, is currently getting a lot of heat for running a Chris Mortensen report right after the AFC Championship game that said 11 of the 12 footballs used by the New England Patriots were underinflated by two pounds per square inch each. The Wells Report later disproved this report but neither ESPN or Mortensen retracted it at any point.
On Tuesday, Simmons seemed take pleasure that ESPN was getting shit on by every media outlet
I can't say that I have enjoyed the Patriots training camp so far. http://t.co/qHYo47BB00

Simmons then went on to mock ESPN/ Chris Mortensen with a series of sarcastic tweets.
My bad. It turns out that @rembert is NOT the father of Kim Kardashian's second baby. I retract the report and I have deleted the tweet.

Sources tell me that @Rembert wrote Meek's last diss track.

Sources – @rembert did NOT write the last Meek diss track, but he did listen to it, so I am not going to delete the tweet.

It seems that Simmons’ trolling worked. An hour after his tweets went live Mortensen finally deleted his erroneous DeflateGate tweet from six months ago.
Bill Simmons might still be the most powerful person at ESPN. Chris Mortensen just now deleted his DeflateGate tweet.
